MoviePass Rival Sinemia Launches Family Plans Starting at $8.99

MoviePass rival Sinemia is introducing family plans.

Sinemia's family plans provide tickets for two to six people, and range from $eight.99 for "one movie 24-hour interval for 2 people per month" upward to $89.99 for "3 movie days for six people per month." Keep in mind that "all plans are billed annually," so yous'll demand to pay for 12 months upfront. The new plans are available in the US, Australia, Canada, Turkey, and the Britain; see full pricing details below.

Sinemia'due south move to launch family plans follows rumors yesterday that rival MoviePass is gearing up to introduce "loftier-demand" surge pricing starting in July. Meanwhile, Sinemia and MoviePass will soon gain new contest: theater chain AMC this week appear plans to launch its own $xx-per-month subscription program called Stubs A-List.

Those with Sinemia family plan memberships tin use the app to purchase flick tickets on Fandango.com, MovieTickets.com, or AtomTickets.com, or direct through a cinema's website or box office. The company says its service is available in "all major theatres."

With this launch, "Sinemia for Two" plans, which ranged from $9.99 to $29.99, will become part of the new family plans and be $1 cheaper per month, the company said.

"Our Sinemia for Two plans have been very popular among our subscribers, which shows that moviegoers beloved to go to the movies with their family and friends," Sinemia Founder and CEO Rifat Oguz said in a statement. "Expanding this into broader Family unit Plans is the next logical step for us."

Sinemia's private plans range from $4.99 for one movie ticket per calendar month to $14.99 for three flick tickets per month.

• $14.99/£14.99 - 2 flick days for two people per month (total 4 tickets per month).

• $29.99/£29.99 - 3 movie days for two people per month (full six tickets per month), including 3D films and one IMAX feel.

For 3:

• $xiv.99/£14.99 - One picture day for 3 people per month (three total tickets per month).
• $24.99/£24.99 - Ii picture show days for three people per calendar month (half-dozen total tickets per month).
• $29.99/£29.99 - Two movie days for three people per calendar month (tree total tickets per month), including 3D films and 1 IMAX experience.
• $44.99/£44.99- Iii film days for 3 people per month (half dozen total tickets per month), including 3D films and one IMAX experience.

For iv:

• $19.99/£nineteen.99 - One movie day for 4 people per calendar month (four full tickets per calendar month).
