HP Printers - Cancel a Print Job

This document is for HP printers.

Cancel any pending or in-progress print jobs from the printer control panel, or cancel print jobs from the computer or mobile device you used to send the job.

Cancel a print job from the printer control panel

Cancel the current print job from the printer control panel.

note:
Canceling from the control panel stops only the current job. It does not cancel any other pending print jobs in the print queue.

For printers with buttons, press the Cancel button .
For printers with a touchscreen, touch X, Stop, or Cancel.

If you are unable to cancel the print job from the control panel, cancel it from the computer or mobile device that you used to send the job.

Cancel a print job from a computer

Cancel the current print job on a Windows or Mac computer.

note:
You can only cancel a print job on the computer that you used to send the job.

Cancel a print job (Windows)

Cancel a print job from the print queue in Windows.

Open the print queue.
- If a printer icon displays in the notification area, double-click the icon to open the print queue.
- If a printer icon does not display, search for and open Printers & scanners, select your printer in the list, and then click Open queue.
Right-click the print job you want to cancel, and then click Cancel.

Cancel a print job from the print queue in macOS or OS X.

Open the print queue.
- If a printer icon displays in the Dock, click the icon to open the print queue.
- If a printer icon does not display, search for and open Printers & Scanners, select your printer in the list, and then click Open Print Queue.
Click the Cancel icon next to the print job you want to cancel.

Cancel the current print job on an Android or Apple iOS device.

note:
You can only cancel a print job on the mobile device that you used to send the job.

Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the notification area.
Select the print job you want to cancel.
Tap Cancel to cancel the print job.

Cancel a print job (Apple iOS)

Cancel a print job from the print queue on an iPhone or iPad.

Open the App Switcher.
- If the device has a Home button, press the Home button twice.
- If the device does not have a Home button, swipe up from the bottom of the screen.
Swipe left, and then tap the Print Center app.

note:
The Print Center app displays in App Switcher only when the printer is processing a print job.
Tap the print job you want to cancel, and then tap Cancel Printing.
